The Center for Safety, Health and Environment of Chulalongkorn University (SHECU) recently held the 4th Annual Laboratory Safety Network Symposium 2024, titled “Digital Transformation for National Laboratory Safety Management: Possibility and How?” on September 5, 2024, at the Ratchathewi Grand Ballroom, Asia Hotel, Ratchathewi. The event commenced with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Acting President of Chulalongkorn University, followed by remarks from Mr. Sompratana Suktawee, Deputy Director of the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). Dr. Wiparat De-ong, officially opened the symposium and presented tokens of appreciation to the esteemed speakers, including Emeritus Prof. Dr. Suthiporn Jittmittrapap, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Waraporn Danutra, and Assoc. Prof. Suchata Chinachit.
The symposium was organized by Center for Safety, Health and Environment of Chulalongkorn University, with support and funding from NRCT for promoting and supporting research and innovation activities. The event aims to showcase the success of laboratory safety standards within the network, as well as exchange knowledge, experiences, and seek inspiration to drive sustainable laboratory safety standards.
The event featured a presentation on laboratory safety standards by Dr. Annicha Tokitklatawat, Director of the Research Standards Division and the Development Institute for Scientific Animal Use under NRCT. There was also a special lecture on “Digital Transformation for National Laboratory Safety Management: Possibility and How?” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Danai Ratanabadithamchari, an advisor on organizational architecture and digital transformation. Additionally, the symposium included the 2024 Laboratory Safety Performance Awards and an exhibition on laboratory safety knowledge, along with a poster competition.
