Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, Acting President of Chulalongkorn University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Palanee Ammaranond, Acting Vice President, congratulated Dr. Jatuwat Sangsanont from the Department of Environmental Science, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanaungnit Kingpetch from the Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, for receiving Government Excellence Awards in 2024.
The awards were presented at the academic seminar and award ceremony titled “Transforming Public Service for Sustainability: Reinventing Public Services for Sustainability,” organized by the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at the Royal Jubilee Ballroom, Challenger Hall, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. The award presentation was presided over by Mr. Chousak Sirinil: Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office
Dr. Jatuwat Sangsanont received the Government Excellence Award in the Honorary Category for his work on “Innovating the Use of Academic Knowledge to Respond to Epidemic Outbreaks,” which also won the 2024 United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA) in the category of Innovation in Public Institutions.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanaungnit Kingpetch, head of the team developing the “Smart Robot for Thyroid Cancer Treatment Using Radioactive Iodine,” received the Government Excellence Award for Outstanding Public Service. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rattaplee Pak-art, Deputy Director of Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, the Thai Red Cross Society, and advisor to the robot development project, also attended the award ceremony.
