Chulalongkorn University Shines at Thailand Graduate Fashion Week 2024: Showcasing the Art of Upcycling

From September 23 to 29, 2024 the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University participated in “CentralWorld Thailand Graduate Fashion Week 2024”. Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, congratulated Prof. Dr. Kumkom Pornprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, along with faculty members and students from the Department of Creative Arts who contributed their designs.

This year, the Fashion and Textile Department of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts submitted a total of 21 collections to be exhibited on September 27, 2024. These creations, by undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, were developed under the theme “Embrace the Art of Upcycling” to promote awareness of reusing and sustainably consuming fashion products. This aligns with the direction of the international fashion and textile industry.
The success of this event benefits not only the public and participating students but also serves as an important opportunity for knowledge exchange and networking among new designers in Thailand, helping to enhance the potential of Thai fashion and textile businesses to compete effectively and sustainably on the global stage.

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
