The Chulalongkorn University Office of Art and Culture, in collaboration with the South Asian Studies Center of the Chulalongkorn University Institute of Asian Studies and Marmara University, Turkey, organized the Thailand-Türkiye Friendship Concert titled “Bygone Melodies for a Harmonious Future: An Exploration of Folk Melodies in Classical Music” on November 14, 2024, at the Music Auditorium, Arts and Culture Building, Chulalongkorn University. The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, with Her Excellency Mrs. Serap Ersoy, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Thailand, and her delegation in attendance.
The performance featured traditional instruments such as the Bağlama and Iklığ, played by Turkish musicians alongside the Chulalongkorn University Chamber Ensemble, creating a cultural exchange through music.
