Chamchuri United,” the football club of Chulalongkorn University, has received a significant donation of 3 million baht from the Parent and Teacher Association of Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School (Chula Demonstration School) to strengthen the team’s bid for promotion to Thai League 2 in the upcoming season.

The “Luuk Phra Kiew” Chamchuri United football team, which is currently competing in Thai League 3, received this crucial support from Mr. Kampol Chotipathumwan, the president of the Parent and Teacher Association, who organized a charity football match at the Chula Demonstration School Secondary Campus on November 6, 2024. The event was attended by numerous Chulalongkorn University executives, such as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chanchai Sittipunt, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Witaya Wannasuphoprasit, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tartat Mokkhamakkul, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vichit Kanuengsukkaseam, Chairman of Chamchuri United Football Club.

The event was lively and spirited, with over 15 honorary football players participating, including Mr. Sakkchai Yodwanich, Mr. Kitti Apichanbancha (former association president), Mr. Kiattiporn Sirichaisakul, Lt. Police Major General Sirathat Khetkruwatthanasek, who played against the Chula All-Star football team led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chaiyapat Loksirirat, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science at Chulalongkorn, alongside other prominent figures like Mr. Olan Chueabang, Managing Director of Siam Sports Syndicate Public Company, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kulyos Audomvongseree, Director of the Chulalongkorn Energy Research Institute, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thiti Bovornratanaraks, Acting Dean of the Graduate School at Chulalongkorn, and Assoc. Prof. Nakorn Phaisangittisakul, Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University.

Before the match, Mr. Kampol Chotipathumwan donated a sum of 3 million baht to Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, the President of Chulalongkorn University, to support Chamchuri United in strengthening its squad for the Thai League 3 season. 

Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, stated: “This generous donation is an important step for Chamchuri United. It demonstrates the Chulalongkorn community’s unified support for our football team. Chamchuri United is not just a football club; it is an institution that develops athletes who excel both on the field and academically. The team has already proven its ability to produce high-quality players for the national team. With this significant support, we will continue to improve our training and education systems, aiming for promotion to Thai League 2 next season. This will provide our players with greater opportunities to develop their skills and further enhance the reputation of Chulalongkorn University.”

Mr. Kampol Chotipathumwan, President of the Parent and Teacher Association of Chulalongkorn Demonstration School, said: “We are proud to support Chamchuri United because we believe in its philosophy of holistic athlete development. We have seen the success of many alumni who excel both in football and academics, setting a great example for Thai youth. The 3-million-baht donation strengthens the close relationship between the Parent and Teacher Association and Chulalongkorn University. We are committed to helping the team achieve its goal of promotion to Thai League 2, and we hope the players will give their best, playing with heart, integrity, and sportsmanship as role models for future generations.” 

Founded in 2011, “Chamchuri United” has a long history and is renowned for producing many players who have gone on to represent Thailand in international football, such as “Yong” Phanrat Hemviboon, “New” Pheeradon Chamrasmee, and “Tert” Veerathip Phompan. Additionally, the club has helped Chulalongkorn University win multiple championships in university sports, including the Thailand University Games, the University Football League, and the prestigious Chula-Thammasat Traditional Football Match. 

The sense of kinship and warmth found in the Chula community is priceless and a treasure worth keeping.
