Chulalongkorn University Announcement Extension of Temporary Workplace Closure as a Result of COVID-19 Pandemic (No. 3)

With reference to Chulalongkorn University Announcement regarding Temporary Workplace Closure as a Result of COVID-19 Pandemic dated April 30, 2020.

Since the Prime Minister has issued regulations by virtue of Section 9 of the Ordinance for the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations, B.E. 2548 (2005) (No. 7) dated May 15, 2020 to make allowances for the use of the buildings and premises of school or educational institutions while still refraining from the use of buildings and premises for the purpose of holding classes, teaching and examinations or conducting training courses; the Prime Minister in his capacity as Director of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) has issued instructions for the Center for Situation Administration on the Infection Outbreak of the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) (No. 3/2563) regarding “Guidelines for Regulations issued in accordance with Section 9 of the Ordinance for the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in Emergency Situations, B.E. 2548 (No.2) dated May 16, 2020 that the premises used for the purpose of holding classes, teaching and examinations or holding training courses remain closed. Subsequent to that, the government has announced the extension of the period of emergency situation declaration in all areas of the Kingdom (second instance) dated May 26, 2020 and the Announcement issued by the Cabinet pursuant to the Declaration of an Emergency Situation that remains in effect dated May 26, 2020 and the Announcement Regarding the Regulations, Announcements and Orders issued by the Prime Minister pursuant to the Declaration of an Emergency Situation dated May 26, 2020 that the period of the Declaration of an Emergency Situation be extended from June 1, 2020 until June 30, 2020 and that all regulations, announcements and orders issued by the Prime Minister and announcements issued by the Cabinet pursuant to the Declaration of an Emergency Situation continue to be taken into effect.

The University hereby announces an extension to the temporary closure of its workplaces within and outside the Bangkok Metropolis until June 30, 2020. It asks that staff members continue to comply with Chulalongkorn University Announcement regarding Temporary Workplace Closure as a Result of COVID-19 Pandemic dated March 21, 2020. In cases where it is deemed necessary for the staff to perform their tasks in the workplace, the sections or divisions should ensure that the number of staff working in the workplace and those working from homes is maintained a proportion not to exceed that of 40:60 percent and comply with the work plans that the Committee for Chulalongkorn University COVID-19 Emergency Response Center will circulate in an announcement at a later date.

This announcement shall take effect immediately until further announcement of any changes.
