A big round of applause to the students from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School for winning eight gold medals, two silver medals and four special awards from the World Invention Creativity Olympic (WICO) 2021 in Seoul, South Korea, during 8-10 July 2021.
The young innovators from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School created innovations that won five gold medals, one silver medal and five special awards, including:
The “Killing Mask” team members, Tos Bovornvanich, Nabuddha Tantipoj and Narita Tantipoj, won one gold medal and two special awards from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations and Korea University Invention Association.
The “MIY Coloring” team, Piyasoranee Winayanuwattikun, Prin Udomkiatikul, Puntharee Lertritcharaskit, Chayapa Srivotavilai and Picha Banditchutikul, won one gold medal and two special awards from the World Invention Intellectual Property Associations and Korea University Invention Association.
Napassanan Sumetpimolchai and Thitchaya Mankong, the two members of the “iMedicare Solution” team, won one gold medal and one special award from the Korea University Invention Association.
The “3-in-1 Travel Toothbrush”, with Primluck Bovornvanich, Tos Bovornvanich and Paravit Tantrarattana, won a gold medal.
Another gold medal was for the “IoT Smart Health” innovator, Waranyu Kittihawornkul.
The “Shuttlecock Pro” team received a silver medal. The team members were Sirisaran Direkwatana, Baramate Charoenchaisombat, Harith Punnapirom and Panyakan Tritangkur.
Another winning group were students from Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Secondary School, bringing in three gold medals and one silver medal for the following innovations:
The team members included Chutirada Santivorapong, Natthanicha Lertsrisakulrat, Nittakarn Phattarachaisiroj and Rungarun Ausawalarp.
The team members included Jisue Youn Kumwilaisak, Ratchapon Thammacharo, Narapat Hengarnglai, Phinyada Thanyawan, Wanich Chiowanicha and Peerawat Pannattee.
The team members included Miss Nannapat Ratanasirivilai, Miss Parin Tantakasem and Miss Puttipa Seraypheap.
The “Spina Pasta” innovator, Romchalee Wattanavekin won the silver medal.
The excellent achievements of the Satit Chula students were fully-supported by the Satit Chula Innovation Hub, which was set up to give students the opportunity and space to create innovative works and make imaginations a reality.
Teacher Jeerasak Jitrojanarak, Chairman of the Satit Chula Innovation Hub, Chulalongkorn University Demonstration Elementary School, talked about the key factors to the students’ success. He stated that, “The award-winning innovations were results of the school’s reformation of the way students learn. The teachers have encouraged students to start by thinking of the problem on their own. Then, the teachers listen and instruct students to find a solution to the problem based on their imagination. Thus far, the Satit Chula Innovation Hub has mentored and supported dozens of student innovators to participate in contests at various forums.
