On August 19, 2022, Assistant Professor Dr. Rattiya Phulaor, Associate Dean of the College of Population Studies, and the research team presented the One Tambon One University (University to Tambon) project to the community of Lat Krabang district. Mr. Sawang Chanthaphan, Assistant District Director, and Mrs. Duangporn Seksuwong, Head of Community Development and Social Welfare, were present to officially receive the transfer. Along with discussions and the exchange of ideas, both parties collaborated on coming up with means to foster further development of the project. The team organized an information session for district officers and staff on how to use the QGIS community map, to sustainably build a community database, increase the potential of the local economy, and encourage the development of a sustainable local economy.
Chulalongkorn University, via the College of Population Studies, Institute of Asian Studies, Social Research Institute, and the Coordinating Center for Labor Research of Chulalongkorn University, has conducted research and carried out activities in the project to, by means of integration, restore and upgrade the community’s economy and develop skills that create new occupations in the community of Lat Krabang District, Khlong Sam Prawet Subdistrict. Completed in 2021, the project was delivered to the community and included 4 major activities: building the community database (Community Economic Map Economap), developing a platform system (Tam Sang Tam Song Delivery), promoting and developing the skills, understanding, and use of digital technology (Digital Literacy) in support of better jobs and income (Digital Literacy Training and Mushroom Planting Training), and developing community labor skills (Growing Mushrooms, Changing Cities).
