Overview
Our program provides core sets of materials science concepts and principles, promoting the students’ creativity and innovative thinking, which can be further applied to create new products, and solve industrial and environmental problems. Our graduate research deals with scientific and engineering aspects of the structural properties, processing techniques and applications of materials. Innovation and Technology
Students will learn about the latest updates in Applied Polymer and Textile Technology. The research in the program is conducted by faculty members, specialized in the area, and the department emphasizes research collaborations among institutions and industries, both domestic and international. The research on polymers and textiles covers a broad range of polymeric materials, such as plastic engineering, composite materials, biodegradable materials, energy conversion and storage, technical textiles, functional textiles, green textile products and processes, and rubber and coatings.

International Experience and Double Degree Program
The program provides opportunities for international research collaborations and student/staff exchange with several partner universities, such as Nagaoka University of Technology, Tokyo Metropolitan University, Nagoya University, and Kansai University. The program also offers a double degree with the Department of Materials Science and Technology, Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan. Upon completion of the requirements, student can earn a Master of Science degree from Chulalongkorn University and a Master of Engineering degree from Nagaoka University of Technology.
Career Opportunities
After graduation, students will receive a Master of Science degree, earning the opportunity to work with prestigious/start-up companies, become an entrepreneur in the fields of materials/polymer/ceramic/construction materials/petrochemical industries, or become researchers in both domestic and international private/education/government

Admission Requirements for Academic Year 2022
The applicant must have:
- A Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) in Materials Science, Chemical Technology, Chemistry, or Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- An acceptable English test score (TOEFL or IELTS or CU-TEP). The minimum English scores for admission without condition to the program are 45 (CU-TEP), 4 (IELTS) and 450 (TOEFL PBT). However, students with scores that are close to the minimum may be admitted with condition and required to pass the English language coursework(s) before graduation.
- Approval of the Program Administrative Committee for applicant to join the program.

Application
- The online application is available on the Graduate School website (http://www.grad.chula.ac.th/en/index.php). Please visit the website for more information on how to apply to the program and follow the guidelines of the Graduate School.
- The application fee is 500 Thai Baht. Payment of the application fee is a part of the application completion. All international applicants receive an applicant fee waiver.
The following application materials are required and must be submitted online.
- The application form
- A photo (not more than 6 months old)
- A copy of the applicant’s national ID card (for Thai students) or a copy of the applicant’s passport (for international students)
- A copy of the official transcript of the previous degree incurred
- A copy of the English test score (CU-TEP, TOEFL or IELTS)
Notes
- For applicants who earned a diploma or an associate degree, followed by a two-year bachelor’s degree program, transcripts from both academic levels will be required for the application.
- Applicants who do not have a valid English score can submit an online application. However, the applicant must submit an English score to the program coordinator by May 25th,2022 for the application to be complete.
- Applicants still studying in the final semester of their bachelor’s degree can apply to the program. However, the applicant must submit an evidence of graduation that meets the program requirement before the first day of new student enrollment.
- Scholarships for international students are available for qualified candidates.
